Todays Goal: Website

Well today my goal is to get the website up and going!

www.hudsonfamilyfarm.com

Be sure to check it out. Because of the blog, I have been debating on doing an official website, but I decided that ultimately it would be worth it for exposure.

For those looking for local fresh produce, we will have a farm stand opening June 2009.
0
It will be open 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays. All kinds of produce will be available.

You will also find fresh eggs, goats milk, and also home made items such as pure beeswax candles, handmade quilts, baked goods, etc.

E-mail for more information.

Good news for Scotchman's Peak hikers!

0
Starting approximately April 2009 (when the snow is gone), we will be opening a small primitive campground (between 5-10 camp sites).
0
There will also be a family/group camp site that will hold about 3 tents and 3 vehicles. Sites will be developed to hold anywhere from a small 2 person tent to a 8-10 person tent, plus a vehicle.
0
The family/group camp site will also be available to hold an RV/Trailer without hookups.
0
There will be a central -yet private- outdoor shower, and outhouse. By the end of summer there will also possibly be a central outdoor, screened kitchen.
0
We are located only 3 miles from the Scotchman's peak trailhead.

Please e-mail for more information.

What are we trying to accomplish here?

Several folks have asked us what it is exactly that we are trying to accomplish at Hudson Family Farm. Well I should briefly describe what we'll be doing:

Basically, we will be living self sufficiently while at the same time growing extra produce to sell for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). There will also be goats for goat's milk, and chickens (and also possibly turkeys and ducks) for eggs. There may also be rabbits, but at this time rabbits are still being debated.

Hopefully we will not have a repeat of last winter, which graced us with approximately 8 feet of snow at one point! Our last snow fall was June 10!

My goal with this blog is to show all the work basically step by step.
